Air Springs Overview
Air springs (air bags) carry the load and absorb road shock in a truck's air-ride suspension, maintaining ride height between the axle and frame. A ruptured or leaking bag drops ride height, causes a harsh ride, and can bottom out the suspension under load. Van Horn Truck Parts carries rolling-lobe (reversible-sleeve), single- and double-convoluted, and cab/seat air springs cross-referenced to Firestone (W01-358-xxxx), Goodyear (1R-series), Contitech, and Automann part numbers.
To order the correct air spring, cross the number stamped on the bead plate of your old bag, then confirm design height, top-plate stud pattern, and bottom-plate mount. Double-convoluted bags deliver higher capacity in a shorter stroke; rolling-lobe bags suit longer travel. Replace in axle pairs.
